Our boutique health club offers the latest in cardio, free weights, functional training spaces, and small group classes. We provide a welcoming environment to get active and pursue your fitness goals with expert guidance from qualified exercise scientists. We are open to ACU students and staff, as well as community members.

Meet the trainers


Brett is a sports and exercise science graduate from UTS. He has expertise in weight loss, functional and sport specific training. Brett has significant experience in fitness management having previously worked for the Sydney Swans and UNSW Fitness and Aquatic. He has been at ACU for three years and is currently the National Gyms and Fitness Manager at ACU Active.


Marshall is a dual-qualified health professional, holding a Masters of Exercise Physiology and Bachelor of Exercise Science. His passion for physical activity and sport stems from having played and enjoyed many sports in his youth. Marshall looks to take his vast knowledge from his study to educate and inspire his clients to become their best selves and specialises in the areas of prehab and rehabilitation of injuries alongside sport-specific athletic development training.


Oussama is a soon to be an exercise sport science graduate. He has previously played rugby league and representative basketball. He has particular interest in strength and conditioning training methods to improve athletic performance, strength and power development. Oussama has upskilled as gym instructor through strength conditioning and boxing courses to provide a more valuable holistic experience for gym members. Oussama highly values evidence-based research to match clients’ needs using appropriate and training methods to target specific client goals. Oussama believes in providing an exercise session experience that is incorporates hard work, fun and enjoyment. 


Ash is a Certified Gym Instructor for ACU Active North Sydney who completed her Certificate III in Fitness with the Australian Fitness Academy. She is a Sport and Exercise Science student at ACU who has a passion for helping people achieve their goals through a holistic approach to training. Ash has an extensive background in Gymnastics and Aerial Sports coaching leading to her special interest in skill development, flexibility, core, and grip strength training as well as her passion for Strength and Conditioning. She believes everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their optimal health and enjoys finding different ways to motivate and assist her clients in getting there.


Emma is a soon to be exercise scientist graduate with a love and passion for both exercise and sport. She discovered the importance of saying active whilst maintaining a balanced lifestyle and embracing challenges but rewarding outcomes that come with exercising. She strives to help others incorporate exercise into their life and assist them to prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing, whilst exceeding goals. She’s had years of experience coaching sports such as netball and touch football as well as been fortunate enough to have worked alongside an exercise physiologist who assisted her with implementing new techniques and skills when training clients.


Jayden is a sport and exercise science graduate from ACU. He has a passion for helping people and understands the importance of health and fitness and how it can benefit their everyday lives. Jayden specialises in hypertrophy and strength training, as well as training for athletic performance and sports injury prevention. With his personal and professional experience, he is committed to helping every client of ACU Active achieve their goals.


Nicole will use her sports science expertise to help you achieve your goals whilst making sure you enjoy the process along the way. You may start your fitness journey with uncertainty, but that's where Nicole with be there to guide you through. With her support, you are guaranteed to be able to confidently work towards improving your overall health and achieving your desired fitness goals injury-free.
