Our group fitness classes are a great way to challenge yourself in a fun and dynamic setting. Our classes are suited to all fitness levels and we guarantee you’ll have a blast while working up a sweat or focusing on your wellbeing. We offer a variety of group fitness classes to help you kick-start your training regime. So, get your friends together and start reaping the benefits!

Bust a move while you workout! This monthly class combines simple dance movements and functional exercises to ensure you have fun while burning calories.
High intensity interval training designed to improve your cardiovascular fitness utilising a variety of exercises and equipment.
Concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on developing core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being.
Re-energise and centre yourself whilst increasing your strength and flexibility during this strong and powerful flow blend of yoga practice.
Using a variety of boxing equipment and drills, this class will increase strength and fitness levels whilst improving general boxing technique.
Full body exercises designed to increase and build the foundations of strength, coordination, and balance to improve the ability to perform day-to-day activities.
Slow down and train your brain in this class consisting of pranayama (breath exercises), mindfulness and meditation practices as well as gentle floor-based yoga poses.

Kick Starter program

Work with our qualified exercise science graduates to build a better you. Our gym instructors are fully qualified exercise science graduates with experience in training for weight loss, strength and conditioning, improved athletic performance and injury rehabilitation. Whatever your fitness goals, we have an instructor who will guide and motivate you to stay on track.

The program is for all new members who join the ACU Sport gym. This is a complimentary service to help you move towards achieving the best version of you.

Meet the trainers

Brett

Brett is a Sports & Exercise Management graduate from UTS. He has expertise in weight loss, functional and sport specific training. Brett has been a personal trainer in Canada and Australia and has worked for the Sydney Swans, UNSW and is currently the Gym Facility Supervisor at ACU Sport Gym, North Sydney. 

Liz

Liz has always loved being active. Her education has complimented her own athletics training and allowed her to compete at a national level in athletics and become the best possible coach and athlete. She is currently studying her Masters of Exercise Physiology at ACU. She holds Level 1 ASCA and athletics qualifications and specialises in strength and conditioning, functional training, as well as prehab.

Marcela

Marcela has a passion for sport and physical activity and loves to help others develop a positive relationship with exercise. She has five years junior football coaching experience and specialises in strength and conditioning, as well as anatomy. Marcela enjoys helping people learn movements and enjoying being physically active and puts a focus on tailoring exercises to individuals.

Nick

Nick is currently studying a Doctor of Physiotherapy at Macquarie University. He enjoys still water rowing for and has competed at a national and international level. For the past four years he has been involved with rowing and coaching surfboats. Nick has expertise in rowing & surf boat training, full body resistance programs and high intensity cardio training. 

Alysha

Alysha has been involved in sport and physical activity from a young age and has been fortunate enough to progress this into a professional career as a Sports Scientist and Elite Athlete. Through merging both her academic and professional experience, she has a diverse outlook to training and has expertise in sport specific and return to play conditioning as well as functional training.
